Take your comfiest sweater from frumpy to funky with one of these twists.
We all have our favorite warm sweater. Sure, it may be a little plain Jane, but man is it warm. Just because the temps are dropping and the winter layers are coming out doesn't mean that all your fashion sense has to get the big chill as well. We took a simple Gap v-neck ($38) and transformed this classic look from warm to hot in three different ways.
Sweater Swing
Think your coziest sweater is too bulky to wear with a skirt? There is a simple solution: a belt. Pairing a sweater like this Gap version with a flouncy skirt -- like this one from Delia's ($38.50) -- works out nicely thanks to the cinch your waist. So while you're at Delia's picking up your new skirt, score a skinny belt ($12.50) and this girlie look is complete.
The Right Tights
Your fave sweater works wonders with jeans, but the finished look is a yawner. To add some sass to your sweater look, pair it with a bold pair of leggings ($9.99) and suddenly your look comes to life. If you still need to pick up this year's snuggly sweater, think about buying it a size or two larger to create a sweater-dress look. (V-Neck sweaters, like the Gap one we've featured, don't lose much of their style the larger the size you get.)
Tee-Hee
For a little splash, add a bold undershirt for simple pop. We like this one from Forever 21 ($10.80) because the shirt's color is bold and the print is simple enough to peek our from your sweater without looking messy.
